Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired
The Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired has a long history of eliminating barriers to equity and providing a voice to those who need it most.
Founded in 1956, the mission of the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ACBVI) is to facilitate independence and promote full participation in all spheres of life for those who are Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI), live with Combined Vision and Hearing Loss (CVHL) or are DeafBlind (DB).
ACBVI purchased the more than three acre campus at 32nd Street and Roosevelt on which our office is located in April 2022. We are partnering with Terros Health to eliminate barriers to health equity for our clients and the community by bringing a Community Health Center to campus.
We serve adults that have lost their vision through accident, illness, or other trauma with a variety of programs aimed at creating independence through orientation & mobility, life skills, vocational training so they can re-enter the workforce, social recreation for adults that do not have a vocational outcome, and adventure trips like skiing, rock climbing, kayaking, and water sports for all clients.
Set your support for ACBVI in stone. An independence path brick is the perfect way to celebrate an exciting life event like a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or birth. It’s also a special way to honor a loved one. Purchase your personalized brick today- don’t miss your chance to leave your mark on ACBVI.
